AMANDA RYDER
Amanda Ryder grew up in Sharon and has lived in Canton since
2012. She has three young children, including a fourth grader
and a first grader at the Hansen, and is deeply invested in
ensuring that our district (and community) is a place where every
student can thrive.

Amanda works at JSI, a public health organization, where she
leads the implementation and evaluation of community- and
school-based health initiatives. Her work emphasizes
collaboration, equity, and well-being—values she aims to bring
to the School Committee.

She is passionate about fostering a whole-child approach that prioritizes students’ academic, emotional, and physical well-being while strengthening family and community engagement through open communication and collaborative decision-making.

As co-founder of the Canton Farmers Market, Amanda has had the opportunity to collaborate closely with school stakeholders, students, families, and many others. She is proud of how the market brings the community together.
Amanda has also served in various volunteer capacities, including as a member of the district's School Wellness Advisory Committee since 2012, the St. Gerard’s Reuse Committee, the board of the Canton Helpline, and the board of the Learning Circle Preschool.

She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from UMass Amherst and her master’s degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.
