BOARD OF ASSESSORS CANDIDATES
There is one Board of Assessors seat open for a three-year term
Below is the candidate for Board of Assessors.
William Galvin
Bill Galvin is a current Assessor seeking re-election and has been
an elected member of the Board of Assessors since 1987. He is
a lifelong Canton resident and a proud graduate of Canton High
School. After graduation, Bill joined the family insurance business,
which was founded by his grandfather in Canton in 1925. Wanting
to give back to his community, Bill became a Library Trustee and
an Assessor for the Town of Canton. Bill took his experience in
local government with him to Beacon Hill when he was elected
State Representative.
Bill is seeking another term as a Town Assessor because he brings experience and a passion for public service to the position. He has dedicated his career to public service and the region he has called home his entire life.
At the State House, Bill is currently the Chair of the House Committee on Rules. He was previously the Chair of House Personnel and Administration. He has held vice-chair positions on the Banks and Banking Committee (now called Financial Services) and the Committee on Children and Families. In the Legislature, he has also served as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, Housing Committee, the Transportation Committee, and the Energy Committee (now called the Committee on the Environment and Natural Resources).
Bill is happily married to Paula Russell Galvin (also a proud CHS graduate). Bill and Paula have two adult children. They live in Canton with their two dogs. Bill is an avid Boston sports fan and in his free time enjoys golf and spending time with his family.
